Normal working day
I work in the Hasselblad Design Centre team. Therefore my work involves a number of aspects relating to the development, design and marketing of new Hasselblad cameras. As such in a typical day I might liaise with the creative agency concerning camera marketing tools, such as product presentations or catalogues, or I might be involved in developing accessories for our new camera. Moreover I am also responsible for establishing and maintaining relations with several suppliers for the Hasselblad cameras and accessories. What I like most about the job is doing market intelligence, which involves studying competitors, and researching potential new suppliers.
Challenges in my role
Preparing materials for big events, like e.g. photokina in 2012, was definitely a challenge. Our target was to provide a small collection of well-designed and thought-through accessories and merchandize within a very short time in connection with the unveiling of our new Lunar camera. It was difficult, but I’m pleased with the result.
We work in a very small but dynamic group here in Italy, but as what we do here greatly affects the rest of the Hasselblad organization we cooperate closely with the other Hasselblad offices in Denmark, Sweden, and the UK, as well as cope with requests from suppliers and distributors. Therefore you quickly learn to solve problems, navigate in an international environment, and oversee numerous areas and aspects.
