| | Xie Mo has specialised in portraits but readily photographs dance and landscapes as well. His pictures have appeared as large spreads in magazines such as Chinese Photography, Photographers’ Companion and Portrait Photography. Xie’s work appears in the Hasselblad Calendar for 2001 where it says, “…Mo infuses a delicacy and warmth into the genre of fashion photography. It’s a welcome antidote to the rigid Paris, London, New York axis. With Mo you can forget heroine chic and emaciated models. He reminds us what fashion is really all about – feeling good about ourselves.” He has acquired an international reputation as a photographer and is also a prominent lecturer, speaking at the Photo Fair in Göteborg, for instance. Xie works with Hasselblad 500C, 500CM, 500EL, 503CX, 503 CXi cameras and Zeiss Distagon 40 mm, Distagon 50 mm, Planar 100 mm, Makro-Planar 120 mm, Sonnar 150 mm, Sonnar 250 mm, Tele-Apotessar 500 mm and Schneider-Variogon 140-280 mm lenses.
