Editorial - Nina Berman.

American documentary photographer Nina Berman is a widely published and exhibited professional with a primary interest in the American political and social landscape.

Her work has been honored with awards in art and journalism from the New York Foundation of the Arts, the Open Society Institute Documentary Fund, and the World Press Photo Foundation among others. She is internationally known for her portraits of wounded American military, with her shot Marine Wedding, in particular, widely considered to be one of the most iconic images of the human cost of war.

Nina is a contributing photographer for Mother Jones and her work has appeared in some of the world’s top editorial publications, such as TIME, Newsweek, The Sunday Times Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Colors, German Geo, Harpers, National Geographic, Fortune, and Marie Claire. Her work has been the subject of solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries in New York, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, London, and Berlin. Nina is a member of the NOOR photo collective based in Amsterdam in addition to lecturing frequently on photography, conducting workshops, and serving on the faculty of the International Center of Photography (ICP) in her hometown of New York City.
