HOC Winner Is a Successful Entrepreneur
21/02/2011 Alexander Martirosov, of St. Petersburg, Russia, is Hasselblad Owners' Club Photographer of the Month.
Last year was a banner year for Alexander, 42, who specializes in portraiture, fashion and fine art photography. In addition to staging two 2010 exhibitions—the first in October in the St. Petersburg Hotel Astoria, the second in November, at Art Gallery Shop Artists, St. Petersburg—he opened his own studio, formed a team of associates, and became a finalist in several competitions held under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art, FIAP.

What's so surprising about this HOC winner is that while he has had a passion for photography for many years, he is the founder and owner of one of the largest retail chains of Italian fashion shoes in St. Petersburg. Previously, he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Technology, majoring in Radiation Processes in Nuclear Energy.
Says Alexander, "I've used different brands of equipment, but in the end, I opted for Hasselblad. Excellent color and resolution help me accomplish any shot. The HTS 1.5 tilt-and-shift adapter enables me to have complete control over perspective and depth of field, and is universal in relation to different lenses. Hasselblad completely fits my needs."
